DH: Ramshackle vocals, pub rock sinalong choice of covers, tight, boogie down guitar which occasionallly breaks out into tongue-in-cheek heavy metal excess. Should be great fun live, which is probaly the main idea. Chas 'n' Dave for maladjusted lager boys.
CS: Bar-room, r'n'b metal boogie dose'nt sound very promising. Cover versions in the above style could be even worse, but the Artfull Dodgers unsympathetic approach to the ultra hip Seekers "Georgy girl' is funny ' enjoyable and could chart in t much the same way as the Toy Dolls did with 'Nellie the elephant'. The only tape that's managded to wake me up all day.
WR:. A novelty tape. Wears thin after one listening but its fun the first time especially the mock metal version of 'Consider yourself' from Oliver. One for the xmas eve disco.
BD: A bit like The Boys basic pop thrash complete with jack-the-lad singalong section. Briliant selection of songs and a genuinely entertaining interlude to the afternoon. Somebody should give then a gig - once.
RA : Great fun - in the Jonah and the wail vein. There are loads of bands who'd love to have that dirty cranked up guitar sound. I wonder how they'd be able to build up a set of this material though.
RB : 5 stars for "Georgy girl' a perfect length song and the remix is very inventive. This would send them mad at a drunken Bunker party. Very silly, good image and fully deserving of thier 15 minutes.
